HELLWANA
ABOUT
Hellwana is a rapper, singer, and performer who moves between genres
with freedom and ease. Her work is rooted in emotional honesty and bold experimentation. Fusing rap, soul, electronic, and alternative influences,
she creates powerful, ever-shifting soundscapes where vulnerability meets strength. Her lyrics explore identity, relationships, body positivity,
and the celebration of femininity — giving voice to those who live loud,
love deeply, and challenge expectations.
She caught the attention of an international jury and was named the most promising progressive act in Radio Wave’s Czeching export competition.
She has released several acclaimed EPs — Láska, Das Leben, Phases,
Sunbeam — as well as a number of genre-blending singles.
Her music resonates both locally and internationally.
Hellwana has brought her dynamic live shows to stages across Europe
and beyond, including Eurosonic Noorderslag in the Netherlands,
C/O Pop in Germany, the UK, the USA,
and a special performance in Israel as part of a Eurovision side program.
She composed the track No Man’s Land for the feature film Zrcadla ve tmě, directed by Šimon Holý, and was awarded the Apollo Prize
for Single of the Year for her song Das Leben.
Her creative work extends beyond music — she contributed voice and music
to the art exhibition My Body is Not an Island by visual artist Eva Koťátková, presented at the National Gallery in Prague
and the Musée d’Art Contemporain de Bordeaux in France.
Together with producer BXSTON, she created music
for the theatre production A neříkej mi Maruško! and co-produced the official soundtrack for the documentary series Dakar Sistaz,
broadcast on Czech Television.
Through music, performance, and interdisciplinary collaborations,
Hellwana continues to push boundaries and redefine what it means
to be an artist with a voice of her own.
